Afilog and LCBI partner to assess the carbon footprint
in logistics real estate
Paris, January 16. 2025
Afilog and LCBI are forming a partnership dedicated to the evaluation of the carbon footprint in logistics real estate and the labeling of an indicator on logistics assets.
Because logistics buildings are carbon emitters during their construction and during their operation, Afilog, an association of industrial and logistics real estate actors bringing together 130 companies, and LCBI (Low carbon building initiative), the European low-carbon label launched in 2022 by BBCA (association for the development of low-carbon buildings) and other real estate actors, are partnering to build a global benchmark for the evaluation of the carbon footprint in logistics real estate, as well as an associated label.
Afilog and LCBI have already defined the concrete modalities of collaboration between the two organizations, and have set up a joint steering body. They expect the first concrete results in the course of 2025, with a completion of the work in early 2026.
