Committing European real estate to decarbonization with LCBI and One Click LCA

The Low Carbon Building Initiative was launched at Mipim in 2022 to provide a clear, unified framework for understanding the carbon footprint of different real estate assets. How far has this certification scheme come since its creation?

The initiative was driven by a number of pan-European investors, including AXA-IM. How has this individual awareness been organized to bring investors together?

 March 1st 2024, Webinar on LCBI methodology and certification scheme

On March 1st, 2024, LCBI team presented the LCBI V1.0 standard for new buildings and the associated certification scheme. The result of two years’ work, LCBI is the first pan-European method for measuring the carbon footprint over the life cycle of buildings, incorporating thresholds and aiming to halve the sector’s carbon footprint. This webinar was hosted by :

      • Bureau Veritas, first European certifier for LCBI
